Oklahoma State Adds Transfer Portal’s Top Player in Audi Crooks
When the season ended, the Cowgirls seemed like the latest victim of the transfer portal. Now, it seems like Jacie Hoyt might be running the whole operation following her latest win.
Late Sunday night, On3’s Talia Goodman reported that Iowa State star Audi Crooks committed to Oklahoma State.
Hoyt has been nothing but complimentary of Crooks in the past, describing her as “one of the best players” in the country earlier this year. CBS Sports ranks her at the top option in the transfer portal which gives the Cowgirls both of the top two portal players in the nation.
Somehow that might be underselling her. Crooks is a three-time unanimous first-team selection in the Big 12 and was named an AP Second Team All-American (2026), AP Third Team All-American (2025) and AP Honorable Mention All-American (2024) in her last three seasons.
“We are thrilled with the addition of Audi,” Hoyt said in OSU’s release. “She has been one of the country’s most dominant scorers the last few years and to think she will be in a Cowgirl uniform feels surreal. She has elite size and strength paired with elite hands and touch that allow her to be an automatic bucket around the rim. The last three years I’ve watched team after team strategize and game plan around stopping her and almost all have failed miserably,” Hoyt said.
“Getting to know Audi in the recruiting process was truly a joy. She has the personality and intangibles that make you love her and want to root for her immediately. I know she will immediately become a fan favorite and fit right in to Stillwater. She is incredibly motivated in her senior year to evolve and expand her game. She came here to grow and just like some of her teammates who stayed or came from the portal, she has courage to blaze her own path and pursue what can be a historical season for us.”
She finished this season No. 2 nationally in points per game with 25.8 while shooting 64.9% from the floor which also ranked second nationally.
Crooks finished with 12 double-doubles this season alone, bringing her career total to 30.
The former Iowa State star is the sixth player OSU has landed in the portal this offseason joining Rutgers breakout Nene Ndiaye, No. 2 portal prospect Liv McGill, D-II Player of the Year Talexa Weeter, sharpshooter Ellie Brueggemann and former five-star prospect LA Sneed.
