Given his ability to hold attention in a room, it felt like only a matter of time before Mike Gundy got in the TV game, and on Saturday, he will.

According to Pokes Report’s Robert Allen, the former Oklahoma State coach will be a part of TNT’s coverage of Arizona at West Virginia this weekend.

It’s not the first time Gundy has been used in this type of capacity, as he’s led the Coaches Film Room on a few occasions during national title broadcasts. His most recent example of that came last season, where he was again excellent.

Gundy’s 21-year tenure as OSU’s coach came to an end last season when he was let go after a 1-2 start following a 3-9 2024 season.

Despite the struggles toward the end, Gundy is undeniably the most decorated coach in the school’s history. He had a 170-90 record in Stillwater and led the Cowboys on an 18-year bowl streak. Gundy’s teams won double-digit games in eight seasons, with his most prestigious being when his 2011 squad went 12-1, winning the Big 12 and beating Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.

That was one of two Fiesta Bowls the Cowboys won under Gundy, as 10 years after his first time hoisting that trophy in Phoenix, Gundy did it again after a comeback win against Notre Dame.

Before he had the headset on, Gundy was the Cowboys’ quarterback from 1986 to 1989. He finished his career with 8,473 yards (fourth in program history) and 57 passing touchdowns (fifth in program history).
