Is Mason Rudolph Going to Have Surgery on His Foot?
As we noted last week, Mason Rudolph has a broken bone in his foot. It was pretty clear on Saturday night he was struggling, and now he might have to have surgery.
Mike Gundy insinuated this, as the Oklahoman pointed out. The question was about whether Rudolph would be ready for the bowl game with some rest.
“I’m not sure,” Gundy said. “And I really don’t have that answer. We’re going to make a decision this week on exactly what direction we’re going to go with him. He has a foot injury that he could go either way with it. We’re going to let him make that decision this week.”
Could go either way with it.
That means “surgery or let it rest,” right?
I think it probably does, and I’m guessing rest is the choice that’s made here. I have no inside knowledge, no #sources, none of that. I’m just guessing that if it wasn’t bad enough to not suit up on Saturday, it’s not bad enough to have surgery. And plus, you don’t want to start throwing your feet under the knife unless you absolutely have to.
