Mike Holder Is Fired up for the Sugar Bowl
Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder is fired up to play in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. He’s not the only one, by the way. OSU’s players are pretty stoked as well. But Holder is really jacked up (as he should be).
“There are going to be thousands of Cowboys in New Orleans,” Holder told The Advocate. “Christmas has come early for us.”
It certainly did.
“We are very excited to compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, where a very notable chapter in our program’s history was written 70 years ago,” added Holder. “What a great reward for our players, coaches, alumni and fans to ring in the New Year while enjoying the world famous food and hospitality of New Orleans.”
Here’s a recap of that Sugar Bowl from January 1946 and the 9-0 OSU team that won it.
The main reason Holder is pumped, though? Think about how much easier it is to sell tickets to the Sugar Bowl than to the Russell Wilson Sweatpants Bowl!
(wait until the end)
