Oklahoma State Sugar Bowl Gifts Include Watches, Hats and Gift Suite
One of the traditions of bowl season has become which bowl hands out the best gifts to its participants. This year, the Sugar Bowl is handing out a Fossil watch, New Era Cap and commemorative coin to each player which doesn’t sound very cool until you also note that there’s a gift suite involved.
What is a gift suite? According to Sports Business Daily, it’s basically a free trip to the mall.
Gift suites are set up as private events in which game participants, and often bowl VIPs, are given an order form and allowed to select a gift, or gifts, up to a value that is predetermined by each specific bowl, not to exceed the NCAA limit of $550 per person.
Last year, for the Cactus Bowl, that included TVs, Keurigs and Beats headphones.
This year won’t necessarily be better since there’s a $550 limit, but it might be different depending on who sponsors the Sugar Bowl’s suite. You can view all of the bowl gifts here.
