Amauri Hardy Remains Committed to OSU; Waiting to See Next Hire
2017 Oklahoma State commit Amauri Hardy was just as stunned as you and me about Brad Underwood’s decision to bolt for Illinois.
“I was shocked,” Hardy told PFB. “It’s something I never saw coming.”
It’s something none of us saw coming, including the administration at OSU, which learned about the move on Twitter like the rest of us did. And Hardy, who has been a pledge to OSU since December, is now in a state of limbo.
He can remain committed (to a program with no current head coach) or open up his recruitment and see who might take in a four-star guard (Hardy is 4-star at ESPN and 3-star on 247) like himself. His suitors will likely be plentiful — finding a home for a recruit of his caliber this late in the process is difficult to come by, even for good basketball schools.
“I haven’t made any decisions yet, being that it all happened so fast,” he said. “I’m just going to wait and talk to the [new] coach and get his take on it and base my decision on the feedback I receive from whoever it might be. Hopefully the process of selecting the new coach can be done fast.”
Before committing to Oklahoma State, Hardy was interested in Georgia Tech and Georgia.
