Reactions From Former OSU Players after Mike Boynton Hire
Just five days after it was announced that Brad Underwood was heading to Illinois, Oklahoma State has announced his replacement. While the pick is not necessarily the sexiest hire or the one most fans wanted or expected, he is someone that the remaining Cowboys on the roster have just spent the last year with.
The two departing seniors both put their stamp of approval on the hire.
So excited for this program! Oklahoma State basketball is in good hands!

Former player Desmond Mason, who had also been campaigning for the job, tweeted his reaction and support for the school. He didn’t hold back on naming the staff members he had alluded to when first pitching his candidacy publicly.
I wish OK STATE lots of luck! Thank you Coach Chuck Person, Josh Oppenheimer, Penny Hardaway and the other that were committed to the move!

Not every former player was as cordial or held back their feelings on the hire.

There’s still a lot of raw emotion and we’re talking about people who love and support the university and probably had their own candidates in mind.
