Former Baylor offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery led the Golden Hurricane to a 10-3 record in 2016, featuring an electric offense that was fourth in the nation in yards per game. They enter 2017 having to replace the duo of quarterback Dane Evans and receiver Keevan Lucas, along with running back James Flanders. Sophomore quarterback Chad President, who was committed to Baylor but followed Montgomery to TU, is the presumed starter.
OSU is 39-27 all-time against Tulsa, winning each of the teams’ past five meetings. The last time the two teams played was in 2011, where the Cowboys defeated the Golden Hurricane in a rainy 59-33 rout.
OSU will take on Tulsa on Thursday, Aug. 31, in Boone Pickens Stadium.
