Angelo State Quarterback Braeden Fuller Reportedly Visiting Oklahoma State
He was a finalist for the D-II Heisman in 2024.
It looks like the Cowboys are in search of some experienced depth behind Drew Mestemaker.
On3’s Pete Nakos reports that Angelo State (Division-II) quarterback Braeden Fuller is set to take an Oklahoma State visit this week.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Fuller has spent the past four seasons at Angelo State, starting with a redshirt year in 2022. In 27 career games, Fuller has completed 56% of his 449 pass attempts for 3,408 yards, 36 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He also ran for 767 yards and 11 scores.
Fuller was the 2024 Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,318 yards and 19 touchdowns to only two picks and running for another 678 yards and 10 scores. He led Angelo State to a 9-3 record that season, which included an unbeaten record in conference play. He was a Harlon Hill Trophy finalist, an award given to the MVP of D-II.
Fuller entered the portal in mid-November. He played in eight games this season, throwing for 1,050 yards and 15 touchdowns to four INTs.
Since hitting the portal, Fuller has had reported visits lined up to UTEP, MTSU, Bowling Green and Western Kentucky.
He’s from Floresville, Texas, which is southeast of San Antonio.
The Cowboys have their quarterback for the 2026 season in Mestemaker, who led the nation in passing this season with 4,379 yards while adding 34 touchdowns. But the Cowboys have no college experience behind him, with all of OSU’s 2025 quarterbacks hitting the transfer portal.
New OSU coach Eric Morris has, though, added three high school quarterbacks in Broderick Vehrs, Luke Tepas and Hunter Trusler. UMass transfer quarterback Grant Jordan also announced a portal offer from the Cowboys.
