TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

Davonte Davis has committed to Oklahoma State … again.

Davis announced his commitment to the Cowboys via the transfer portal on Monday. Davis initially committed to OSU as a high schooler back in 2018 before backing off that commitment and going to Arkansas. He spent the past four seasons with the Razorbacks before hitting the portal and finding his way back to Stillwater. He should have one season of eligibility remaining.

“Devo is a great person from a great family, and he has an incredibly engaging personality,” Steve Lutz said in OSU’s release. “Cowboy fans will see some of that same energy out on the basketball court. He is a multi-dimensional athlete who plays with effort and purpose on both ends. He’s made big plays in big moments over the course of his career, and I’m confident he’ll do the same here at Oklahoma State.”

Listed at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, Davis averaged 8.5 points, four rebounds and 2.4 assists a game throughout his Arkansas career. He was a part of two Elite Eight teams in Fayetteville, playing in 132 games and starting 85.

Davis’ best season with the Razorbacks came as a junior during the 2022-23 season. Arkansas made the Sweet 16 that season as an 8 seed. Davis averaged 10.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game that season while shooting 35% from 3.

He took a step back this past season, but the Razorbacks did as a team — finishing just 16-17 before Eric Musselman left Arkansas for USC. Davis averaged 5.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and two assists a game.

Davis became the ninth player in Arkansas’ history to record 900 points, 400 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals.

Davis was a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class out of Jacksonville, Arkansas. The 247Sports Composite rankings listed him as the No. 124 player in the class. Along with his offers to OSU and Arkansas, he also had offers to Ole Miss, Auburn, Oregon, Texas Tech, SMU and others.

Although it’s the second time Davis has committed to OSU, it’s the first time he has committed to Lutz. Oklahoma State fired Mike Boynton after the Cowboys finished 12-20 this past season. OSU hired Lutz on April 1 from Western Kentucky.

Lutz added Mike Ekanem to his staff this past week. Ekanem was with Davis at Arkansas during the 2021-22 season as the Razorbacks’ director of player development. That season, Davis averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game as a sophomore.

Davis becomes the fourth player Lutz has picked up out of the transfer portal, joining Arturo Dean (FIU), Robert Jennings II (Texas Tech) and Marchelus Avery (UCF).

With Davis’ addition, OSU is up to eight scholarships used of a possible 13 — meaning Lutz has five scholarships open.
