FINAL: Oklahoma State 27, Oklahoma 24

Alan Bowman goes 28-for-42 for 334 yards and rushes for a score.
Ollie Gordon II fought through some dings for 137 rushing yards and two scores.
Rashod Owens set a career high with 136 yards.
Brennan Presley adds 97 more; caught eight of nine targets.

Nickolas Martin and Trey Rucker each grab nine tackles.
Xavier Benson adds seven takedowns to go with three TFLs, a sack, a QB hurry and a forced fumble.

GAME: COWBOYS

Wowza: The Cowboys take over up three with 1:01. That should do it.

One more stop: That’s all they need.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 27, Oklahoma 24 | Q4 | 4:48

The Cowboys hold the Sooners to a field goal and get the ball back with a 3-point lead with less than five minutes left. How’s everyone’s blood pressure?

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 27, Oklahoma 21 | 6:59

The Cowboys, unfortunately, can’t get more than three points out of a gifted red zone turnover. Bowman sails one over Leon Johnson III’s head in the end zone. Hale nails a 34-yard FG.

Wow Update: On the third play of OU’s drive a snap bounces off of Dillon Gabriel’s shins and Cody Walterscheid falls on it.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 24, Oklahoma 21 | Q4 | 7:59

It was the longest drive of the season, but it gives the Cowboys the lead. OSU took a 24-21 lead when Ollie Gordon II capped a nine-play, 4:43 drive full of bailout Sooner penalties.

Oh no: Ollie gets picked.

The Cowboys went with a trick play that didn’t harpooned their drive.

Gordon: Good at running, not who I want throwing the ball down late when down in a Bedlam.

Drive Update: OSU’s defense comes up with a huge stop.

That old Bedlam feeling was sinking in as the Sooners strolled into Cowboy territory. But the defense got a stop with a turnover on downs.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 17, Oklahoma 21

Football is a game of inches and what-ifs.

The Cowboys looked ready to get a stop on third-and-12. Two plays and 49 yards later and the Cowboys are down 4.

Drive Update: The Cowboys stall out.

OSU went for it on fourth-and-1 on the OU 16 and didn’t get it. Might miss those points.

Big Play Alert: Ollie Finally Breaks One

No. Zero broke off a 35-yard run on third-and-6 to put the Cowboys in OU territory.

Big Play Alert: Dylan Smith Takes it Back

The Cowboys get another turnover when Dillon Gabriel threw a pick a split second before he got drilled by Nickolas Martin.

HALFTIME: Oklahoma State 17, Oklahoma 14

After scoring on three of their first four possessions, the Cowboys went three-and-out, three-and-out and then ran out of time with the ball. OU gets the ball back at the start of the third quarter.

Big Play Alert: Xavier Benson looks okay.

The Sooners’ offense was cooking before the Cowboys were able to not only stop them, but a huge TFL by Benson stretched the FG attempt to 51 yards and it was no good.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 17, Oklahoma 14 | Q2 | 7:06

The Cowboys looked ready to shut down OU’s drive at third-and-13 on the Sooners’ 23. But a big play broke that drive loose and the Sooners marched down the field to pull within three.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 17, Oklahoma 7 | Q2 | 9:42

The Sooners hold the Cowboys to a field goal. Alex Hale chips it in from 36.

OSU’s offense has controlled the game thus far, and that’s without Ollie Gordon really going off yet.

Injury Update: Xavier Benson down. [Correction]

[Appears it was Jason Brooks that was on crutches, not Benson.]

The Cowboys’ defensive leader went down early in the second quarter and was helped off the field. He is currently on crutches. Benson has a sack, a TFL and a forced fumble early. Not good.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 14, Oklahoma 7 | Q2 | 14:53

Alan Bowman continues to impress early, taking a designed QB run 13 yards for a score. In one quarter plus a play, Bowman is 12-of-14 for 127 yards passing and that score.

END of Q1: Oklahoma State 7, Oklahoma 7

The Pokes face second-and-11 at the OU 13-yard line. The Cowboys went for it on fourth-and-3 at the edge of the red zone and it paid off.

Big Play Alert: They took it back.

Xavier Benson takes advantage of a botched snap/handoff by OU and forces a turnover after the Sooners got deep into OSU territory.

Drive Update: Cowboys pin the Sooners deep.

After OSU’s drive stalls, Wes Paul dropped a punt at the Oklahoma 2-yard line.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 7, Oklahoma 7 | Q1 | 10:51

The was fast.

The Sooners needed less than a minute to even the score. Gavin Sawchuk broke free to the right and ran 64 yards for a touchdown. We’re on pace for a good old-fashioned Bedlam shootout.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 7, Oklahoma 0 | Q1 | 11:39

The Cowboys strike first.

The Cowboys marched down the field on their first drive. Alan Bowman went 3-for-5 for 51 yards thanks to a couple of nice plays by Rashod Owens and a big 26-yard pass to Brennan Presley. Then Ollie Gordon capped the drive with a 20-yard TD.

Injury Report: The Cowboys look to be in pretty good shape, health wise.

Uni Reveal: The Cowboys are undefeated in this uni combination.

The Cowboys and Sooners are about to square off for the final time in the foreseeable future. That’s big. And the two teams enter this November matchup as part of a five-way tie for first place in the Big 12. That’s huge.

Oklahoma is fresh off of its first loss of the season while OSU is riding a league-best four-game win streak. You couldn’t have scripted a more dramatic lead-in for this weekend, especially based on how the Cowboys started the season.

Will the Cowboys end the rivalry with consecutive wins over Oklahoma at home? Will Ollie Gordon go for 300? Will the Cowboys earn payback for this picture from last year?

Stick with us here at Pistols Firing. It’s going to be one heck of a Bedlam.
