Big 12 Announces Sonic Hard Seltzer as Official Hard Seltzer of the Conference
Sonic’s hard seltzer scores a big win with the Big 12.

It’s been a beer-y busy week on the adult beverage front. First it was OSU making news with its new official craft beer in partnership with Iron Monk, and now it’s the Big 12, which announced on Thursday it has an official hard seltzer — and it is Sonic’s intoxicatingly delicious hard seltzer.
The seltzer is produced by none other than COOP Beverage Works (a former PFB sponsor!) with an excellent track record as a brewery. (Their Elevator Wheat is a must-try and you will not be disappointed.)
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Big 12 Conference,” said COOP Beverage Works President Sean Mossman in a statement. “On the heels of our continued expansion into 39 states and being recognized as one of the top 10 fastest selling seltzer brands, we’re excited to deepen our product integration responsibly within the Conference and with its fans of legal drinking age.”
The hard seltzer from Sonic is available in two variety packs: the Tropic and Citrus and the Greatest Hits Pack. The Tropical Variety Pack features Ocean Water, Melon Medley, Mango Guava and Orange Pineapple; the Citrus Variety Pack features Cherry Limeade, Original Limeade, Classic Lemonade and Lemon Berry. (BRB, going to go give these a try immediately, if not sooner.)
Being the “official” hard seltzer of the Big 12 gives Sonic category exclusivity and use of Big 12 and championship marks at the retail level as well as social and digital engagement on Big 12 channels, the league said. It will also receive some exposure in partnership with the conference title game in football and conference tournaments in both basketball and baseball.
