Signing Day

You can follow along on this cool site OSU set up. (okstate)

I’ll have 10 Thoughts at the end of the day and Kyle Boone will have a superlatives piece on Thursday morning. Also…this:

Three storylines for signing day. (NewsOK)

This was my favorite tweet of the day already and it won’t be topped. (Twitter)

We’re getting more kids from Louisiana than from Oklahoma. (Tulsa World)

My friends over at CBS are doing an all-day live blog, btw. There probably won’t be much OSU stuff but it should still be good. (CBS)

Also, the good folks at CRFF are doing a live update post all day. (CRFF)

More ‘crootin news

OSU gets its “annual transfer from a school to the north who will probably get a lot of playing time” guy. (NewsOK)

Here’s a good look at where OSU’s 2015 class ranks on average within the Big 12. (CRFF)

Why Chris Carson “needs” to get to the NFL is sobering. (PFB)

On John Kolar: With sophomore-to-be Mason Rudolph standing between him and major playing time, an immediate impact from Kolar is unlikely. Yet, he’s the No. 3-ranked pocket passer in the nation with the ability to become a star in the Cowboys offense. (ESPN)

Why Kenneth McGruder is coming to OSU: We know it’s a great academic school. Two, they play a great brand of football and they win. (Scout)

Baylor tries to get recruits to Waco with restaurants that don’t exist. Is OSU fronting that Target that’s never coming? (Deadspin)

Last year, the Cowboys loaded up with a strong linebacker class. This year, Oklahoma State successfully focused its efforts up front. Daniels, a four-star pickup, and Maile, an ESPN JC 50 prospect, offer immediate impact in the middle, which the Cowboys need with James Castleman and Ofa Hautau both graduating. (ESPN)

I think I’m going to like Kevin Henry. (Scout)

Football misc.

Cody Thomas quit baseball and apparently that’s a big deal. (Yahoo)

The OSU wedding cake war is awesome. (PFB)

OSU-Texas in Austin

Texas is 1-2 at home in conference play. That’s not really that surprising — their arena is terrible — but it’s still reason for optimism tonight. (NewsOK)

Jevan Felix is out, by the way. (CBS)

Texas fans sounds as excited by Rick Barnes as we are by Travis Ford. (CRFF)

Basketball misc.

In eastern Oklahoma, you often have to prove to people that you’re their friend. In western Oklahoma, you have to prove to people that you’re their enemy.

It’s a fan base that deserves better basketball than what it’s had the last 10 years. (NewsOK)

This is cool.

OU shot 61 percent (!) against WVU last night. (CBS)

Grant Hill (??) is part of the new Final Four broadcasting team. (Yahoo)

Nick Collison signed an extension with the Thunder. Royce is understandably excited. (Daily Thunder)

Baseball

No national awards for an OSU players. I presume this is how Josh Holliday likes it. (Big 12 Sports)

I like that OSU does these…oh and I want that shirt.

The links

Peter Uihlein and Karsten Creek are portrayed in this book excerpt about Patrick Reed. (PFB)

Rickie Fowler is playing with the Big Feline this weekend at Torrey. (CBS)

More stuff I’m reading

Dan Patrick shots fired (back) at Colin Cowherd. (Big Lead)

We convinced ourselves we’re so amazing that if we’re stuck it must require a high powered and complex method to save us, but that’s hubris. (99U)
