After there was only one Big 12 game last weekend, the conference was back with a full slate Saturday.

You can read our myriad recaps and analyses on Oklahoma State’s 24-21 win against Iowa State here, here or here. Here are recaps from every other Big 12 game this weekend.

No. 20 Kansas State 55, Kansas 14

It was no Skylar Thompson, no problem for Kansas State on Saturday against its state rival.

The Wildcats crushed the Jayhawks, as K-State’s Phillip Brooks scored as many touchdowns off punt returns as KU scored touchdowns in the game.

Brooks had 189 punt return yards and two touchdowns on four attempts.

Freshman quarterback Will Howard also had a confidence-boosting day, throwing for 243 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Freshman running back Deuce Vaughn ran for 71 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and had four catches for a game-high 81 receiving yards.

KU? Well, KU stinks.

Oklahoma 33, TCU 14

After two losses and a crazy Red River Showdown, the Sooners played their most complete game of the conference season.

It was a big day for Spencer Rattler, who got benched in a portion of the Texas game. OU’s redshirt freshmen QB threw for 332 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Marvin Mims, a true freshman, caught four passes for 122 yards and both of Rattler’s TDs. The Rattler-Mims combination will be one of nightmares for Big 12 defenses moving forward.

TCU still hasn’t given much work to five-star freshman running back Zach Evans. The No. 16 player in the 2020 recruiting class had just one carry for 10 yards Saturday.

TCU is seventh in rushing in the Big 12 and have handed Evans the ball just four times this season.

Texas 27, Baylor 16

After a slew of COVID cases forced Baylor to postpone its matchup against Oklahoma State, the Bears were able to get back to it against Texas this weekend — unsuccessfully.

The first half was fairly uneventful with UT taking a 13-3 lead into the break, and that’s the closest BU would be to winning.

Sam Ehlinger ran for two touchdowns in the third quarter. He finished with 270 passing yards, a passing TD, an interception, 51 rushing yards and the two running scores.

The Longhorns stopped scoring in the fourth quarter and it looked as if Baylor might make things interesting, but a failed fourth-down attempt with about two minutes to go iced the game.

Texas Tech 34, West Virginia 27

The Red Raiders got their first Big 12 win of the season Saturday, and it happened … because of their defense?

Senior defensive back Zech McPhearson returned a fourth-quarter fumble 56 yards for a touchdown to break a tie at 27.

The Mountaineers kept settling for field goals despite Jarrett Doege throwing for 347 yards in the game.

Texas Tech quarterback Henry Colombi had an efficient outing, going 22-for-28 with 169 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 40 yards and a score.
