Katarina Adamovic has been busy since her return to Stillwater.

An All-American at Oklahoma State, Adamovic was announced to be taking over the program she played for on April 28. About a month removed from that announcement, she already has added three players to a team that had to forfeit multiple meets last season because of a lack of players.

Jovana Grujic (Florida State), Claudia Gasparovic and Veronika Kliuch (UNLV) have all signed on to join the Cowgirls.

From Ukraine, Kliuch brings the most put-together collegiate resume of that trio. She was the Mountain West’s Women’s Tennis Player of the Year last season as a sophomore. She went 25-2 on the season in singles and produced a 15-5 record in doubles. She closed the season on a 21-match winning streak in singles and was 18-0 in dual matches.

She has 10 ITF Juniors wins and earned a career-high ranking of 476 back in 2024.

“Veronika is a proven winner and one of the most competitive players in college tennis,” Adamovic said in OSU’s release. “What stood out to me throughout the recruiting process was her ambition. She’s the type of player who wants to be the best, embraces big challenges, and isn’t afraid to set the bar high for herself.”

From Serbia, Grujic was injured this past season, missing her entire freshman year at Florida State. She is, though, a member of the Serbian Junior National Team and recorded 16 wins in ITF juniors competition. She has a career-best ITF Juniors Ranking of 188, which came back in 2022.

“Jovana embodies the mindset we want our program to be built on — toughness, humility, discipline, and a true blue-collar work ethic. She is someone who had great success internationally before college,” Adamovic said. “What stood out most to me throughout the recruiting process was her mentality and character. She’s hungry to improve, grateful for every opportunity and fully aligned with the culture we’re building at Oklahoma State. We’re incredibly excited to welcome her to Cowgirl Tennis.”

From Austria, Gasparovic hasn’t played college tennis to this point. She earned a spot on Austria’s 2026 Billie Jean King Cup squad after a 2025 season that saw her win the Austrian Women’s National Championships in doubles and a runner-up finish in singles.

Gasparovic also has a higher ITF singles ranking than the others, as she was ranked at No. 161 in March of 2025.

“We believe Oklahoma State is the perfect place for her to maximize her potential both on and off the court, and we’re excited to welcome her to the Cowgirl family,” Adamovic said.

Despite last season going off the rails, the Cowgirl program is a proud one, having won seven Big 12 titles since 2001 and another 21 Big Eight titles between 1981 and 1991. OSU finished as the national runner-up in 2016. In 2024, the Cowgirls won their first ITA National Indoor Championship.

On top of all of that, the program plays at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center, which has to be among the nicest college tennis facilities in the country. It won the 2016 USTA Outstanding Facility Award.

So, there’s reasons to believe that Adamovic’s rebuild of the program could happen fairly quicky.
