Cowgirls Get No. 9 Seed, Will Play Syracuse in NCAA Tournament
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament and are headed to Starkville, Mississippi.
The Cowgirls earned the No. 9 seed and will take on No. 8 seed Syracuse in Starkville on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
“This is what you play for,” said OSU head coach Jim Littell. “This is what the kids play for in the summer and the offseason and I’m just thrilled to be back in the NCAA Tournament.”
The Cowgirls, who are 20-10 on the season, finished the regular season with an 85-72 victory over TCU before falling to West Virginia in the conference tournament. Syracuse enters the tournament at 22-8 and include big wins over No. 11 Florida State and No. 22 Duke.
The winner between OSU and Syracuse will take on the winner of first-seeded (and 32-1) Mississippi State and 16th-seeded Nicholls State in Starkville.
The Cowgirls and Orange will tip off at 2:30 CST in Starkville. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
