OSU Bullets

Most Viewed (No. 1): Gundy’s Observations About “QB1”

This comment got right to the heart and split joint and marrow in the debate:

And who knows, maybe the QB who is the most conservative and makes the fewest mistakes doubles as the one with the most talent. Maybe those two things are necessarily conjoined. We’ll likely never know. [PFB]

My opinion is it depends on the supporting cast and the leadership qualities of the more conservative or more aggressive. If you’ve got a stagnating offense with a mute holding the reigns riding his check-downs all afternoon, I’d just assume stay home and watch OSU-Texas re-runs from last year. But I’ll take a conservative quarterback if your running back is averaging four yards a carry and a couple of playmakers who are a missed tackle away from going the distance.

2019 will be interesting because *whispers* I think it’s the latter and we may get the more exciting quarterback.

Most Viewed (No. 2): Gundy Observations about Eddie’s Snub

With all due respect to T. Boone Pickens, Garth Brooks, and Barry Sanders, possibly OSU’s two most prominent ambassadors in one sentence are going to be newsworthy. Mike Gundy’s comments on defining what’s Hall of Fame-worthy were refreshing and no doubt resonated with the fan base.

It’s hard to argue that if Eddie hadn’t had his bagman issues when he was at Arkansas or Creighton, this would have been done and over with years ago.

Most Viewed (No. 3): Marshall’s Notebook from Practice

If you’re anything like me, you hit CTRL + F and looked for “Sanders” as soon as these articles come out. This piece didn’t let me down with the Gundy quote on Sanders’ live arm and making plays on the run.

I’d be curious to hear the odds that Vegas would give the field over Spencer Sanders. I know Gundy’s conservative nature (see Cornelius, Taylor) likes the more experienced veteran but it’ll be easier to find a traffic jam in Stillwater than to avoid the cries for Mr. Texas Football.

Most Viewed (No. 4): Price Perrier Commits to Wrestle at OSU

Wrestling recruits seem to be most like OSU football recruits – quiet but confident. While OSU’s tradition, premium coaching, and incredible success as a program likely seal the deal in most living rooms, the blue-collar, speak-softly-but-carry-a-big-stick-mentality is the icing on the cake.

Most Viewed (No. 5): Norman Linebacker Commits to OSU

I’m not positive Bill Snyder isn’t consulting for Mike Gundy right now – you hired his offensive line coach then went after a potentially overlooked spry 200-pound linebacker with a nose for the ball (Mark Simoneau anyone?).

He seems like a prototype overlooked Iowa State/Kansas State linebacker and as OSU builds their class after the Josh White-decommitment, this seems like a great way to do it.

• X’s and O’s behind the 21 offense with positionless players – lots of Big 12 talk here.

• If Les Miles makes Kansas relevant

Non-OSU Bullets

• Tramel on asking Russell Westbrook questions was good

• Appreciated this faith-based read that lined out a couple of ways I fail

This pass last night was insane.
