Packing Crew

Reports out of fall camp in Green Bay continue to rave about former Cowboy Lane Taylor.

“I think our offensive line will compete to be one of the best lines in the National Football League,” said (Packers head coach Mike) McCarthy during his Thursday morning news conference. “Lane Taylor is clearly having the best camp of his career. He’s really solidified the left guard position. He accomplished that, in my view, last season. Jahri is playing good football for us. He’s come right in here and I really like the working combination between him, Corey and Bryan Bulaga.”

Taylor, who moved into the starting spot at left guard last September, played in all 19 games last season and led the Packers’ offensive line with 1,084 regular-season snaps. [Packers.com]

A key, regularly contributing piece to one of pro football’s best lines? It’s unreal that Taylor and Russell Okung played in teh same lineup.

Snubbed Star

Rudolph didn’t make SI’s preseason All-American team – and they think that’s a shame.

Rudolph was one of four players to get a cover of this very magazine in our college football preview edition, so we’re certainly high on him. Still, he had to contend with the likes of Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, USC’s Sam Darnold and Jackson for a spot on our All-America teams. No matter what, there’s no denying he should be one of the most electric players in the game this season, and his NFL prospects are solid at worst. [Sports Illustrated]

Solid at worst!

OSU and NCAA Notes

Former Cowboy Michael Hunter making quite an impact with the Giants….Catch up with Cowboy Baseballers in the league….The latest on corners and freshman headed for playing time this fall….Hugh Freeze’s phone was dirtier than Thayer Evans’ reporting

A solid way to start the season here for the Cowgirls.

Oklahoma’s most noteworthy haircut?

Year 1 in the (record) books.
