Daily Bullets (August 19) – Early Pick of Bedlam as Game of the Week, 2014 Cowboy Football vs. 2018 Cowboy Football
All The Eyeballs
In a piece breaking down college football’s best game from week to week, Bedlam fit the bill for week eleven.
Week 11
Best game: Oklahoma State at Oklahoma. It won’t be quite the offensive masterwork of last year’s edition of Bedlam, but this could be the highest-scoring game of the day. Who performs better: Oklahoma State’s Justice Hill or Oklahoma’s Rodney Anderson? [SportingNews]
Pretty impressive to be perceived ahead of Florida State-Notre Dame and Auburn @ Georgia. But Bedlam, as lop-sided as it has been, has been must-see TV for college football fans four out of every five years.
Invaluable Context
This by TW’s Bill Haisten on some of the circumstances Taylor Cornelius has seen at Oklahoma State and how 2018 is different than 2014 is incredibly relevant in the 2018 Cowboy Football narrative.
Transfer Daxx Garman would take his first meaningful snaps in 58 months.
Not 58 weeks, but 58 months.
Among the witnesses to the ensuing carnage was Taylor Cornelius, who at the time was a first-year freshman — a walk-on from the Texas Panhandle.
A healthy Walsh gave OSU a QB run threat, and that would have helped to cover deficiencies like a sub-standard offensive line, a lack of offensive playmakers and a defense that was splattered by quality opponents.
A mostly terrible season included a five-game losing streak.
Patience, persistence and development have elevated the 6-foot-6, 230-pound Cornelius to center stage — to the Cowboys’ starting role — and he is infinitely more fortunate in 2018 than Garman was in 2014.
Justice Hill is an elite running back, the Cowboys continue to be outfitted with dynamic receivers, the offensive line has a chance to be the program’s best since 2013, and new coordinator Jim Knowles applies his interesting approach to a defense rife with speed. Mike Gundy’s 14th Oklahoma State squad is substantially better prepared to support a new quarterback. [TulsaWorld]

Not a concern. He lets it all hang out at Media Days then it hits it’s stride again in November.

Could you imagine how hilarious this could be if OSU did something like this with Garth?

Fun for the under 35 crowd to see Gundy dropping dimes.
12 days until #okstate kickoff
#12 Mike Gundy is on OSU's Mt. Rushmore of athletics: one of the most successful quarterbacks, and most successful head coach of all-time. Gundy's 57 passing touchdowns are 4th most in Cowboys history. pic.twitter.com/6ppLSgsW6T

Refreshingly, honest thoughts here from a leading voice in college football on the Ohio State situation.
We’ll soon see the findings from Ohio State’s investigation of the Urban Meyer accusations, and emotions are high. Mine are too. Here’s why: pic.twitter.com/GVjC4KmGyb
