Daily Bullets (Dec. 16): Texas Bowl Talk, Is Javon Small a Star?

Published

on

Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.

Three Thoughts

• USAToday has the Texas Bowl as the 13th-most intriguing bowl game – if it’s not a high-stakes game, you want matchups. Had Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper not declared for the draft earlier this week, there could of been a high profile matchup between he and Ollie Gordon (USAToday + CBS Sports)

• A little bit depressing but it’s not crazy to think OSU is wasting Javon Small – you know what the Cowboys could use? A scoring big man . (O’Colly + ESPN)

• Watching Mike Gundy coach against Jimbo Fisher (for the first time since the 2014 season opener) would of been fun – is the unpredictability of the interim coached Aggies similiarly compelling?

“We have no idea what they’re gonna do,” Gundy said. “We don’t have any idea what they’re gonna do. They play three down, they play four down. They play man, they play zone. The coordinator’s not there on either side of the ball…”

Two Quotes

• Hard to see Mike Gundy being wrong on this one – predicting contracts with players:

• Pretty solid finishes here:

One Question

• If you could add a player that plays at the level Nick Martin plays at linebacker at their respecitve position – what would you add in the portal?
