Four Thoughts
โข A tough and exciting week around the website – out has gone the fearless, genuine leader, an OSU sports-must read and staple, founder Kyle Porter and in comes Marshall Scott to carry the banner. As an employee, it feels like it’s Mike Gundy leaving but Mike Boynton is taking his place.
Take a few and read Porter’s outro, his voice and presence will be sorely missed and the levity I speak with isn’t indicative of how much it’s been to process.
โข You’ll probably feel the need to give OSU’s defense a break for the Tech performance after you read this stat:
Tech had 17 offensive possessions. In eight years of chronicling Big 12 efficiency, thatโs the second-highest number of possessions that I remember.

โข How Cade Cunningham and one-and-dones that go to non-blue blood schools impact their programs ($$$) – spoiler: they play well and bring in recruits (sometimes)
โข Pokes landed a three-star safety from east Texas – there’s a good chance he’ll end up a sure-tackling at linebacker or a high-effort cornerback in stead of a safety
Two Quotes
โข This comment about Cowboy Football recruiting in an ESPN piece caught me off guard:
The Cowboys have been a fixture in the top-40 range in the class rankings for years, and that remains the same in the 2021 cycle. They have a terrific group of wide receivers on the commit list in ESPN 300 Bryson Green; four-star Blaine Green from Allen High in Texas;

โข That Marquette win is only looking better and better.
One Question
โข If Spencer Sanders throws with 60 percent-plus accuracy and has one-or-less turnovers… is it possible for the Cowboys to lose?
