Premature Hype
An argument can be made that Tyron Johnson was grossly underused (for real Gundy, he would have break tackle in the 90’s on a video game) but were we all just a year early on our expectations?
Is 2018 Tyron Johnson’s “bag year?” The junior-to-be figures to be one of several Cowboys to benefit from the abundance of targets now that James Washington and Marcell Ateman have graduated to the NFL. Johnson had 118 yards and two touchdowns in the Bedlam contest when Washington went out with an injury. [News 9]
A five-star receiver looking to make plays can only help a new quarterback get broken-in, right?
No Pulling Punches
It was discussed on Thursday’s pod but Mike Boynton’s strong reaction to the close loss in Manhattan was quite something.
The first-year coach’s eyes watered with passion as he spoke — passion he felt his Oklahoma State team lacked in an 86-82 loss to Kansas State, the third in four games to start Big 12 play.
“To be honest, it was a pretty gutless performance by my team,” he said. “I’ve never been more disappointed than I am today since I became the head coach at Oklahoma State. Our fans deserve better. They’ll get better.” [TulsaWorld]
Tell me how ya really feel. Boynton operates out of a low-grade Tim Tebow-level of emotion on a continual basis – an experience that should be fun in a world of coachspeak and monotony.

You nailed it, Jeff.
If Ok St (or OU for that matter) had a legit DC to help that offense….heaven help the college football world.
