Sports Happy

Non-OSU related but this piece by a Georgia fan post-Rose Bowl brought incredible perspective offering the purest joy sports have to offer perfectly in context with life.

Sports happy is not the same as real life happy. A good day with my wife is better than the best day I’ve had watching a ball game. But sports happy counts for something — the same way that movie happy counts, or comic-book happy counts, or reality-TV happy counts. Life is too hard not to take joy where you can get it. [Tommy Tomlinson]

Here’s to you and I enjoying sports perfectly in context.

No. 1 Overall! Please No…

Athlon has an interesting, encouraging and disheartening projection for the No. 1 pick overall in the NFL Draft.

1. Cleveland Browns — Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State
John Dorsey really controls this draft and it goes without saying that he could address the team’s biggest need right away by drafting a signal-caller.

While there will be plenty of talk about bigger names from this class, something says the big and strong-armed Rudolph will be in the mix to go at the top. [Athlon Sports]

Having a guy go No. 1 overall is an incredible honor for a program – no doubt. But going No. 1 overall to Cleveland is enough to make a guy wish he could take his talent to South Beach sooner than later.

They have James Washington going 23rd overall to Atlanta – love this idea of Matty Ice/Julio Jones and the President. Also – Baker to New Orleans seems like a great fit but I may quit watching if he turns into the next Drew Brees.

OSU and NCAA Notes

Marcus Smart is a world-class pest….How top recruits felt about the early signing day….RichRod getting fired at Arizona was an unpleasant surprise….Texas Tech never trailed in Lawrence Tuesday night….Scouts will have a heck of a time picking between Marcell Ateman and James Washington

Hard to fire a guy after a playoff run… right?

I suppose Oklahoma State approves sadly.

Lost in the holiday fray (for me at least), big man called it a career.

Word.
