Daily Bullets (June 22): Most Viewed of the Week, More Zac Robinson Talk
Bullets Rundown
• Zac Robinson for head coach
• Cowboys land a tall corner from Bixby
• Gundy got a verbal from a top-five player in Kansas
OSU Bullets
• Most Viewed (No. 1): Zac Robinson for Head Coach…Eventually
There are two things I really liked about both Bill Haisten’s point and Porter’s response – the clarification of J.W. Walsh vs. Zac Robinson and Robinson’s fit. Robinson is older, more seasoned, and on a far higher trajectory. That’s not to say by 2026 it isn’t a different story but it’s a material difference at this point.
The other focuses on Robinson’s unassuming nature. Gundy doesn’t have a brash, gregarious personality but he also doesn’t shy away from the spotlight either. He’s full of confidence. I agree that Robinson seems a bit different – he’s fine with the spotlight but he doesn’t bask in it. Surely in the 130ish teams in football, there are some of those but I’m not sure what that implies for the QB from the mid-2000s.
• Most Viewed (No. 2): Pokes Land In-State Corner from Bixby
This feels a little like an A.J. Green-type of signing, right? Tall, lanky corner with some options but lands with the Pokes. These are the kinds of guys you fill the depth chart with then come back in three years after they’ve filled out and you’ve got a bonafide Big 12 corner.
• Most Viewed (No. 3): Kansas Cowboy Back Commits to the Cowboys
With how successful the non-scholarship Cowboy Backs have been in Stillwater, I just assume that a scholarship guy will be even better – an irrational thought process. But taking a tight end from Kansas State and Iowa State seems like that’s a pretty good vetting process.
• Most Viewed (No. 4): Top Plays from the Gundy Era, Part One
This is ultimate offseason fodder here – reliving all of the highs. Speaking of Zac, the toss from him to Dez in the Georgia game was fantastic. The vast majority of these plays are wide receivers and a tight end making big plays – another staple of the Gundy era.
• Most Viewed (No. 5): Gundy Surges into the Top-25 for 2020 Class
Here’s another annual rite of passage – Gundy’s annual bursting into the top 25 while the class sizes for other teams are lower. When the Pokes nearly hit the 13-three stars and everyone else only has half of that, the rating systems have OSU in that top quartile.
Now – OSU tends to land two to four-four stars in a class so they might stand a chance at landing closer to 30 than 40 when it’s all said and done. But enjoy this time in the top 25, being No. 2 in the Big 12 is fun too.

• I could read all of the post-draft breakdowns but this Ringer one is the best
• Solid Haisten piece breaking down the Thunder
• Enjoyed Tramel’s travel blog visiting San Diego – a city I’d highly recommend
