What do the L.A. Clippers think about their new point guard?
Evans is young-ish, but will have a shot at backup point guard minutes right away assuming Chris Paul is re-signed in free agency. The Clippers have nobody else at the position on their roster (this pickup really doesn’t bode well for last year’s second round pick, David Michineau), and Raymond Felton might be too expensive to bring back.
The Clippers will almost assuredly bring in a veteran as well, as trusting full-time backup duties to a second round pick is pretty rare, but Evans will probably get a real shot in the rotation. [Clips Nation]
Sliding a little further than most thought to 39, the biggest question for Evans is this: will he get to slowly learn from a Hall-of-Famer, or will he be thrown into major NBA minutes in year one because the legend left?
I prefer the prior and hope for a Brett Favre-to-Aaron Rodgers scenario.

Recruiting in the Twenty-First Century
The tale of how one of the Cowboys’ incoming running back made it to campus is the epitome of the information age.
King first popped up on the Cowboys’ radar thanks to (head coach Jesse) Lynch’s Twitter savvy, responding to now former OSU running backs coach Marcus Arroyo’s call for what he deemed a #RareBreed of tailback.
“I’m looking at what he put out,” Lynch said, “and it’s J.D. King all day long.”
Within two days of sending Arroyo highlight film of King’s junior season, OSU extended a scholarship, and a month later, King was on campus for an unofficial visit. [NewsOK]
I always assumed any Georgia-bred commits were the fruit of a Glenn Spencer-connection but Arroyo’s differentiation strategy paid off pretty well.
I’m sure the four Twitter guys knew they were creating such a formational recruiting tool but I’m glad they did.
