NCAA Baseball
Oklahoma State smoked Clemson (twice!) to get to the Super Regional. [PFB]
TCU moved on as well. Tech will have to scrap on Monday for a spot in the Super Regional. Would be pretty cool to get three teams from the Big 12 in. [Big 12]
Big 12 News
Big news here: Big 12 is distributing $30M to each of its 10 schools. [PFB]
And bigger news? Big 12 reinstates its conference championship game. [PFB]
Bob Bowlsby thinks the graduate transfer rules are phony. This is the same guy who just stamped his approval on a $30M conference championship game in a conference where all the teams already play each other so yeah. [NewsOK]
Berry on a conference championship game: Divisions just don’t work in a 10-team league. The Big 12 has had enough division. [NewsOK]
The projected divisions here with UConn and Memphis thrown in are an abomination. Get me out of this conference. [CRFF]
Recruiting/Football News
Also, OSU hosted the No. 1 prospect in the state of Texas this weekend. Wooo boy. [PFB]
Awesome stuff here from Kyle B. on Mike Yurcich, a future OSU QB and what else is going on with recruiting right now. [PFB]
OSU gets two (!) on the all-time Big 12 kicker/punter list. [ESPN]
Who are OSU’s preferred walk-ons? [PFB]
Noooooo!
Pretty great to see J.W. Walsh, now a TCU grad assistant, coaching kids up at camp tonight pic.twitter.com/JR4QpYoXDJ

Hoops News
Jawun Evans cleared for non-contact drills. [PFB]
Texas doing some last-minute crootin! [Yahoo]
Baylor Scandal
Ken Starr … nope. [Deadspin]
How in the world is Art Briles the only coach who is getting fired?? [Yahoo]
I think the overwhelming thing in all of this is not that Baylor has done anything wrong or illegal in the aftermath, just that it hasn’t been wise in how it has handled everything.
You gotta be kidding. pic.twitter.com/LWaDhEjNJO

Ali
But Ali was a great boxer, and he did have great swag, and he did deliver a message, and that message was received. The America that was appalled at Ali’s name change from Cassius Clay, his so-called “draft dodging”, and his willingness to express no problem with the Viet Cong, soon enough came around to Ali’s stance. Ali didn’t change. America did. [NewsOK]
Keith Olbermann on Ali is terrific. [Ringer]
Here’s the NYT obit which is predictably great. [NYT]
Why they call him “The Greatest” — maybe the most surprisingly great thing I read. [NJ]
Other Sports
New pod! Carson and I talk Thunder, Baylor and the future of the Big 12. [PFB]
A fan called out Rickie Fowler and got more of Bubba Watson than he bargained for. [PFB]
More Stuff I’m Reading
Whatever happened to Khalil Greene? [STL]
The freelancer and the entrepreneur. This is terrific. [Medium]
How Zuck led Facbeook’s war to crush Google Plus. Awesome. [Vanity Fair]
