Secrets Are No Fun

Bill Haisten points out an encouraging development on the baseball stadium.

Because thousands of drivers and pedestrians pass every day, it’s the worst-kept secret in Stillwater.

Something is happening at the intersection of Washington Street and McElroy Road.

A few hundred yards northwest of Boone Pickens Stadium and immediately north of the Greenwood Tennis Center, there is a section of land that is enveloped by fencing.

Attached to the fencing are MANHATTAN signs.

MANHATTAN is Manhattan Construction — the same Manhattan Construction involved in the development of ONEOK Field, the BOK Center and the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. The same Manhattan that did Oklahoma State’s Gallagher-Iba Arena renovation and currently is building the university’s McKnight Center for the Performing Arts. [TulsaWorld]

It’s not impossible that they would start the project without full funding but it’s a promising sign nonetheless.

Not Quite Story Book

A win last night would have provided a full circle experience for the 2017-2018 Cowboy Basketball team.

With its size and a roster skilled enough to reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, Texas A&M bulldozed the Cowboys on Nov. 20 in the Barclays Center. The next day, OSU struggled to a six-point win over a Pittsburgh team that failed to win a single ACC game.

Oklahoma State was a complete unknown at that point, with a new coach and not many games under its belt. But a win Wednesday would send a very different OSU team back to New York to finish this season’s journey. [TulsaWorld]

From being gutted by a powerful Texas A&M team to going toe-to-toe with the best in the league, it’s been a good ride with these Pokes.
