Johnny Wilson played his tail off at center

Take it from Mike Yurcich himself.

“For him to play as well as he did is an awesome thing to see,” OSU offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich said. “He came in and played his a** off. What a true competitor. He didn’t blink at all.” [NewsOK]

Yurcich also gave a lot of credit to OL coach Josh Henson who, as a lot of you have noted, seems like he’s going to be a star in Stillwater. I don’t know if that means a 10-year run as the OL coach or as a future OC for Oklahoma State (or someone else), but his trajectory is a good one.

Also, this quote from Zach Crabtree in that article is awesome.

“It’s not a problem fighting through something like this when you’ve got great guys around you — guys you care about, guys you love and guys you’ve been through stuff with — to really dig deep and go get ‘em.”

Mike Boynton to speak soon?

According to Zach Lancaster of Go Pokes, Boynton is likely going to address the media later this week.

It hasn’t been made official yet, but speculation is that basketball is planning on hosting the media later this week after a practice for the first opportunity to talk to Coach Boynton and players this season. After all that’s gone on and with a federal investigation looming, I would have to think that players and coaches alike have been instructed not to discuss the scandal that’s currently rocking Oklahoma State directly and college basketball as a whole. I’m fascinated to see what he has to say.

Baylor RB Out Against OSU … or Not?

Baylor’s Terence Williams was off the team, then he wasn’t.

Baylor removed senior offensive lineman Ishmael Wilson and junior cornerback Jourdan Blake from the roster Tuesday, while 1,000-yard rusher Terence Williams remained with the Bears after an earlier social media post that indicated otherwise.

Rhule said he met twice this week with Williams, and that the team’s leadership council comprised of players felt the running back deserved a second chance to stay with the team. It wasn’t clear if Williams would play in the next game Oct. 14 at 15th-ranked Oklahoma State. [ESPN]

I’m not sure it will matter against OSU at home, but an 0-5 team without one of its best players on Homecoming against a team that needs to get back to housing opponents would probably not be great for them.

OSU and NCAA News

Closer look at That Catch … I think Gundy saying he knew Tech was going to onside kick is my favorite part from that game … Anybody else think Tom Herman comes off kinda odd at times? … Mike Boynton is now the only head coach of the assistants who were arrested who hasn’t spoken yet … Baylor is a bottom 10 team (also, UNC is 1-4?!)

?

Wow.

This stinks.

Good coin!

More Stuff I’m Reading

Mrs. Pistols and I watched this documentary last night. It was tremendous (although it could have been much longer).
