Michael Weathers, Maurice Calloo and Kentrevious Jones were each charged with nine counts of malicious injury to property in Payne County Court on Wednesday, first reported by The Oklahoman’s Nathan Ruiz.

Weathers, Calloo and Jones were each charged with two felonies, as damages amounted to more than $1,000, and each were charged with seven misdemeanors with damages being less than $1,000.

After the three were dismissed from the Oklahoma State basketball program, reports surfaced that the dismissals were linked to a vandalism case that involved damage to a 2015 Toyota Rav-4 and a 2011 Chevy Cruze with a BB gun. The Rav-4 sustained about 30 BB holes or dents in the windows and body on both sides, totaling $5,000 in damage. The Cruze sustained about three BB holes in the windshield, totaling $500 in damage.

The three were dismissed from the program Jan. 16; the date of the offenses was listed as Jan. 1 on the Oklahoma State Courts Network.

“In terms of the incident itself there was some kind of noise about something that may have happened, but it was very, very cloudy on details,” OSU coach Mike Boynton said after the dismissals. “I never want to make a rush to judgment. I want to make sure I have as much information as I can before I make a decision, and that would have been late last week. More information came about when we got back, late Saturday night. We moved forward from there and more information more recently last night.

“I don’t know exactly everything that happened. I don’t want to speak ahead of the situation. I think it’s still kind of being looked into. But I have enough information now to have made the decision that I made at this point.”

The incident was Weathers’ second run-in with the law within the past year, as he was suspended before the season began. He ended up pleading guilty to a misdemeanor of knowingly concealing stolen property. Weathers received a two-year deferred sentence to go with that guilty plea. He recently committed and decommitted to Nicholls State, what would’ve been his third Division-I program.

Jones played only 55 minutes while at OSU. He missed a handful of games for violating team rules.

Calloo is thought to be transferring to Cleveland State.
