TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

The Cowboys lost a player to the Cougars last week, but now the Cougars are sending one back.

Carson Suesue (I’ve also seen it spelled Su’esu’e) is set to transfer to Oklahoma State, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Suesue was a freshman linebacker at BYU, but will play tight end in Stillwater, according to Nakos. This news comes after former OSU defensive tackle Justin Kirkland hit the portal and signed with BYU.

Suesue was a member of the 2024 recruiting class but had just joined the Cougars this spring after serving on a religious mission. He’s the definition of an athlete, as he played quarterback in high school before playing linebacker for the Cougars this spring and now tight end with the Pokes. He was a three-star prospect coming out of Granger High in Utah. He threw for 3,295 yards and 33 touchdowns as a high school senior while running for another 709 yards and nine scores.

He was the No. 1,240 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2024 class, making him the No. 102 athlete and the No. 15 player from Utah in the class. He chose BYU over reported offers from Utah, Utah State, Arizona State, Tennessee and others.

BYU listed Suesue had 6-foot-5, 240 pounds on its spring roster.

The Cowboys had added three transfer portal tight ends this offseason, but one — Central Arkansas transfer Jordan Owens — has since jumped back in the portal. OSU brought in Oscar Hammond (North Texas) and Will Monney (Utah State) in a room that also features Josh Ford and Quinton Stewart. The group also got a new position coach this offseason, one that has Utah ties, in DJ Tialavea.
