The regular signing period opened Wednesday, and a four-star recruit put pen to paper with the Cowboys.

Eric Dailey Jr. signed with Oklahoma State. Dailey was the last of the Cowboys’ high school class to sign with Brandon Garrison, Jamyron Keller, Justin McBride and Connor Dow all signing in the early period. Listed at 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, Dailey committed to the Cowboys in January.

“I’ve known Eric for most of his life and I am beyond thrilled that he has chosen to become part of our program along his life’s journey to become a pro,” said OSU coach Mike Boynton in a release. “… “Eric’s parents have raised a hard-working, respectful and goal-oriented young man who possesses a high-level desire to succeed. He wants his team to win more than anything and has always been a great teammate. He is a really dynamic playmaker with the ability to create shots for himself and his teammates We look forward to his versatility on both ends of the court.”

Boynton was at South Carolina while Dailey’s mother was an assistant coach with the Gamecocks’ women’s team. After playing at Texas, Dailey’s mother also coached in the WNBA. His father played at TCU before playing professionally overseas.

Dailey is a consensus four-star prospect, with ESPN being the highest on him, listing Dailey as the No. 51 player in the 2023 class. He chose OSU and Boynton over offers from Florida, Michigan, Texas and others. Dailey was initially in the Class of 2022 before electing to play a postgrad season at IMG Academy in Florida.

Alongside Boynton and Garrison, Dailey won gold at last summer’s FIBA U18 Americas Championship, averaging 9.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists a game while shooting 43% from 3-point range. He also recently competed with USA Basketball at the Nike Hoops Summit in Oregon.

OSU’s five-man 2023 class ranks 12th nationally, according to 247Sports, ranking in the Top 10 at Rivals (No. 9) and ESPN (No. 10). Garrison, Dailey, McBride and Keller are all looked at as four-star recruits by at least one of the major recruiting services.
