Freshman Tracker: J.D. King Shines in Secondary Role at Running Back
J.D. King lead all freshmen in terms of production in Week 1 with his 95-yard, 1-touchdown performance against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. King, however, wasn’t the only true freshman to make his orange-and-black debut under the lights on Thursday.
Former four-star receiver Tylan Wallace also saw the field but did not record any stats. Freshman safety Thabo Mwaniki made his mark on special teams by recording 2 solo tackles, and is likely to see playing time throughout the season as well.
Here’s a look at how the freshmen fared in Week 1 of action. We’ll be updating this tracker each week as Mike Gundy said others could play against South Alabama on Friday.
