Oklahoma State wide receiver Arland Bruce IV has been charged as part of a sports gambling investigation by the state of Iowa, according to a report by the Iowa City Press-Citizen.

Bruce, who played two season at the University of Iowa before transferring to Oklahoma State this offseason, is one of four players in this report charged with tampering with records related to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s probe into sports gambling.

“We are aware and are continuing to gather information,” an OSU spokesperson told PFB. “We are not to the point of being able to comment yet.”

Bruce reportedly placed bets on 11 games in which he participated in. NCAA rules state that an athlete who places bets on his or her team in any sport faces permanent loss of eligibility.

Bruce allegedly used a DraftKings account under the name of Vincent Bruce to place bets before he turned 21, the legal gambling age in Iowa. Bruce completed 132 sports wagers totaling $4,342, according to the complaint.

The others named are Iowa junior walk-on receiver Jack Johnson, student assistant Owen O’Brien as well as Reggie Bracy, a safety who has since transferred to Troy.

Bruce recorded 19 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore for the Hawkeyes last year. He was expected to be a factor in the Cowboys’ offense after OSU lost five scholarship receivers to the transfer portal.
