J.W. Walsh to Petition for one more year of Eligibility
If a football team had a key “role player”, J.W. Walsh would certainly fit that mold. Coming off the bench for the Cowboys, he has tallied 11 touchdowns to ZERO interceptions and compiled a 93.2 adjusted QBR in the process this season.
Walsh has been phenomenal in providing what has essentially been the only consistent run threat in the offense with his ability to make plays through the air and on the ground.
Injuries have cut several seasons short for the dual-threat QB, and it has been talked about that he may be in his last year and jump straight into coaching – where he has voiced he would like to start his career. But on Monday, Walsh announced he may have other plans.
JW Walsh says he "absolutely would like to come back for a sixth year."!Will petition #okstate

Whether he is granted another year of eligibility is obviously yet to be seen, but it will be interesting to see whether the NCAA has to say about his petition. Given his injury-riddled past, there could be an opportunity to have The General back in Stillwater for one more year as a player.
