The Cowboys’ game against the Utes is sure to have Big 12 title implications, but it’s happening at the start of the conference year.

Oklahoma State’s home game against Utah on Sept. 21 now has a kickoff time: 3 p.m. on FOX.

Utah was picked to finish first in its inaugural season in the Big 12. The Utes are 2-0 this season with wins against Southern Utah and Baylor (in a previously scheduled nonconference game). Utah quarterback Cam Rising left Utah’s game against the Bears on Saturday after with an apparent hand injury. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said after the game the injury didn’t appear too serious.

“Can’t give you an answer right now on his availability,” Whittingham said. “I’m told it’s not real serious. Can’t tell you the exact description. He may be back this week. We’ll see.”

Picked third in the Big 12 Preseason Poll, OSU is also 2-0 after a comeback home win against Arkansas on Saturday in which the Cowboys were outgained 648-385 but still, miraculously, found a way to win.

OSU and Utah each have in-state road games this weekend before their meeting in Stillwater. OSU travels to Tulsa for a game at 11 a.m. Utah heads to Utah State for a game at 3:30 p.m.
