King of the Game Recap: OSU vs South Alabama

Published

on

That’s a wrap for Week 2 for Oklahoma State and our King of the Game participants!

Each week, we’ll recap our weekly game. Every player gets a point for a correct pick. We tally up the points each week and the player with the most points at the end of OSU’s season (bowl game included) wins! Wins what? Bragging rights.

Before we get to the individual scores, let’s recap the categories (here’s a look at the original post).

Bet Against the Spread: OSU (-26.5)
OSU easily covered, beating South Alabama by 37 points.

More Return Yards: Tyron Johnson or South Alabama
Tyron didn’t see a single punt or kick return, so this one goes to the Jags who totaled 84 return yards on four kick-offs return attempts

Over/Under: +2.5 made field goals for Matt Ammendola
Ammendola made three of his four field goal attempts, including tying his career long with a made 53-yarder.

King of the Game: Tre Flowers
The options this week were A.J. Green, Ramon Richards, and Tre Flowers. From a stat stand-point they were all pretty close. Flowers recorded 3 tackles, Green had one, and Richards had one tackled and two passes defended. I’ll say this, watching the game all three played well, but Flowers proved why he’s OSU’s most likely defensive All-American.

With that, let’s award some points.

Phillip Slavin: 0

Bet Against the Spread: South Alabama
More Return Yards: Tyron Johnson
Over/Under: Under
King of the Game: Ramon Richards
Prop Bet: OSU grabs four or more interceptions
They nabbed one, but definitely not four.

Kyle Cox: 1

Bet Against the Spread: OSU
More Return Yards: Tyron Johnson
Over/Under: Under
King of the Game: A.J. Green
Prop Bet: I’ll say OSU’s defense scores twice.
Close, they scored once.

Nick Welch: 1

Bet Against the Spread: South Alabama
More Return Yards: Tyron Johnson
Over/Under: Under
King of the Game: Ramon Richards
Prop Bet: I’ll say OSU gets at least one defensive or special teams touchdown.
They got a tipped pass returned for a touchdown. That counts!

Enemy: Adam Luckett: 1

Bet Against the Spread: South Alabama
More Return Yards: South Alabama
Over/Under: Under
King of the Game: Ramon Richards
Prop Bet: Ramon Richards scores on a pick-six.
He was close on at least one interception, but nope.

Fan: Jeremy Norbury: 3

Bet Against the Spread: OSU
More Return Yards: South Alabama
Over/Under: Under
King of the Game: Tre Flowers
Prop Bet: Four different OSU running backs will finish with 75+ yards.
With South Alabama selling out to stop the run, not a single back earned 75 yards. Ouch!

Totals:

Fan – 6
Enemy – 5
Nick – 4
Phillip – 3
Kyle – 2

Either the PFB writers need to start doing a better job or we have to stop inviting such smart guest pickers. If you’d like to be our next OSU Fan picker for this week’s game against Pittsburgh, convince me why I should pick you in the comments section below.
