Logistical Details for OSU’s Fan Appreciation Day Set for Saturday
Oklahoma State will host its Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 5, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
The event will take place at Gallagher-Iba Arena and will give fans the opportunity to directly interact with players and coaches and get autographs from the OSU football and soccer teams on the concourse level of the arena.
Here’s more logistical details on the event from an OSU Athletic press release.
- The concourse level will be split into four zones. Zone 1 – accessible from the northwest corner of the arena with the large statue of Pistol Pete – features the running backs, offensive line and safeties. Zone 2 – accessible from the northeast entrance to the arena – features Mike Gundy, the quarterbacks and the Cowgirl soccer team. Zone 3 – accessible from the southeast entrance to the arena – features the cornerbacks, linebackers and defensive line – and Zone 4 – accessible from the southwest corner of the arena – features the wide receivers, Cowboy Backs and specialists.
- Handicap entrances will be accessible from Zone 1 and Zone 4.
- The OSU University Store will be located in the southeast lobby with the latest apparel and merchandise for the team to sign on Fan Appreciation Day.
- The doors to Gallagher-Iba Arena will open at 1:30 p.m. The football and soccer teams will be in place for autographs from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
- The best place to park is the south lot of Boone Pickens Stadium, but lots will be open all over campus.
- Fans can enter the arena from any of the standard basketball gameday entry points and proceed up to the concourse.
- Fans can pick up an OSU football poster or schedule card upon entry into the arena and may also bring in helmets, jerseys or other items to be signed. Players and coaches will have Sharpies and will sign one item per fan.
- Photos with the players and coaches are not permitted in order to keep the lines moving and provide as many fans direct access to as many members of the team as possible.
- Strollers will not be permitted into the arena.
Porter and I will be on-site Saturday for media day which begins at 5 p.m., and we’ll be looking to interact with readers beforehand for video stuff that might be featured on our YouTube page. So if you’re in Stillwater, be sure to stop and say hi. We’ll do our best to communicate Saturday on our whereabouts via Twitter (or you could just look for the two misfit media guys walking around with cheese fries stains on our polos.)
