Miami Dolphins Place Vincent Taylor on Injured Reserve Following Foot Injury
The former Cowboy sack leader is done for the season.
Former Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor is done for the year following an injury that took him out of the Dolphins’ Thursday night game in Houston. On Tuesday, the team announced that they had placed Taylor on injured reserve.
Taylor was carted off of the field during the first half of the Dolphins’ 42-23 loss to the Texans with a reported foot injury and did not return.
The second-year D-lineman had carved himself out a meaningful role in the Dolphins’ defense, grabbing 26 total tackles, two sacks and blocking one kick in eight games this season. Pro Football Focus rated Taylor as the Dolphins’ No. 2-rated defensive player and the 19th-highest rated interior defensive linemen in the NFL.
Taylor shared a statement on his Instagram account following the announcement.
This marks the second time in his two years in the NFL that Taylor’s season has ended because of an injury. He suffered a knee injury on the opening kickoff in Week 15 of his rookie season.
