Mike Boynton, Brad Underwood Visit Top-Flight PG Courtney Ramey
Mike Boynton appears to be in an arms race for a top-flight recruit with his former boss.
Oklahoma State’s head man paid a visit to four-star point guard Courtney Ramey on Thursday night, according to Corey Evans of Rivals.com. Boynton followed up his presence after his former boss, Brad Underwood, who visited earlier in the afternoon.
Both are among the schools heavily recruiting Ramey, one of the top uncommitted prospects in the 2018 class. And if you thought recruiting was competitive between coaches … well, let’s just say I’d love to be a fly on the wall when they’re talking with Ramey.
Illinois has already secured the commitment of five-star guard Ayo Dosunmu, and the Illini are far from being as guard-needy as Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, are looking to replace both their top point guards from last season in Kendall Smith and Brandon Averette. Ramey would certainly fit that billing, and could be an instant impact.
