Notebook: Oklahoma State-TCU

Published

on

Five thoughts are here. This is the rest of my notebook from Oklahoma State’s 69-48 win over TCU on Saturday.

• Just like we all thought, Anthony Allen would be responsible for Oklahoma State’s first seven points on the offensive end.

• And just like we all actually did think, Travis Ford would take him out immediately after he made two buckets and assisted on a wide open three.

• Does Jeff Newberry think there are points for degree of difficulty on two pointers? My issue is not with this game in which he scored 23 on 8/13 shooting. My issue is going to be when he tries to do it against Kansas and goes 1/18.

• Do you think TCU tricked the European kid into coming to play for them? Like, they showed him their purple and white colors and he thought he was getting Kansas State or Washington or something?

• Jeffrey Carroll traveling is the new Le’Bryan Nash traveling. Every time.

• I have a note in here to take my library books back today. I figured you guys would enjoy that. Big 12 basketball, everyone!!

• Forget the third level in GIA, we’re going to need a curtain for the 200s.

• Phil Forte was wearing the Jordan 12s on the bench. More impressed with myself for noticing than him for his shoe selection.

• The running dance. It has an origin.

It is also quite funny.

• Chris Olivier is a middle class man’s Marshall Moses. It’s unfair to Moses to compare them straight up.

• As bad as these two teams are, it’s still nice to get into Big 12 play.

• Not great, Bob.

• So … these are odd.

• Club Tril got a nice shout out at the end of the broadcast by Dave LaMont.

• Unrelated to our game, but this made me laugh. Scott Drew and Travis Ford are this account’s absolute wheelhouse.

• Not sure what to do with this. I’ll leave it here for now.
