Oklahoma State and Kansas picked as Big 12 co-favorites
Basketball is just around the corner and OSU is the co-favorite with KU.
The Big 12 basketball coaches cast their Big 12 basketball polls on Thursday and look who split the top spot:
1. OSU — 77 points
1. Kansas — 77 points
3. Baylor — 63 points
4. Iowa State — 56 points
5. Oklahoma — 43 points
5. Kansas State — 43 points
7. West Virginia — 35 points
8. Texas — 30 points
9. Texas Tech — 14 points
10. TCU — 12 points
So five coaches voted OSU No. 1 (nine points) and the other four voted them No. 2 (eight points) and the same for Kansas (you don’t vote for your own team).[1. The math: a first-place vote is nine points, a second-place vote is eight points so 5*9 + 4*8 = 77.]
Which is just perfect.
My only hope for this season is that OSU-KU lives up to the hype because both of those games could be all-time jewels. Marcus Smart’s return to the Phog, Wiggins’ first trek to GIA. Man, when is football over?!
This is also true and I think will happen.
Oklahoma State can win the @Big12Conference but only if they turn Gallagher-Iba into the home court it used to be. Poke fans need to return.

This is the third time OSU has been picked to win the Big 12. Its history is not pretty..
2004-05 — Finished 3rd
1998-99 — Finished tied for 5th (!)
The only time it won the Big 12 (2003-04 season) it was picked to finish 5th.
Lastly, Kansas has at least shared nine straight Big 12 titles. That’s scary.
For fun…
