The weekends haven’t stopped being big for Cowboy football; they also haven’t stopped being big for Steve Lutz and Cowboy basketball.

A pair of 2025 prospects will take official visits to Oklahoma State this weekend, and a handful of 2026 prospects will also be in town as the Cowboy football team hosts Utah.

The visitors:

Kareem Stagg — 2025 four-star
Mekhi Ragland — 2025 three-star
Jalen Montonati — 2026 five-star
Seven Spurlock — 2026 four-star
Austin Brown — 2026 four-star

Here is a little bit about each guy.

Stagg

Stagg just this week put OSU in his top four alongside Michigan, Houston and Georgia. He is ranked as highly as the No. 72 player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Out of Virginia, Stagg plays his high school ball at athletic power IMG Academy. Stagg plays AAU ball with OSU commit Ryan Crotty on Nike’s EYBL circuit. Stagg averaged 13.4 points, six rebounds and 1.8 assists a game at Peach Jam in July.

The athleticism that accompanies Stagg’s 6-foot-8, 225-pound frame would fit well on a lot of teams, but it seems like it could be particularly dangerous with the up-tempo style Lutz is brining to Stillwater.

Ragland

A 6-foot-10, 250-pound center out of Georgia, Ragland announced a top five in August of OSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia State and DePaul.

On3 lists Ragland as the No. 123 player in the 2025 class and a three-star prospect. He recently announced he will attend Sunrise Academy for his senior season, which is right up the road from Stillwater in Bel Aire, Kansas, which is just outside of Wichita.

He played with Team Huncho in Adidas’ 3SSB circuit. In 15 games with Team Huncho, he averaged 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game while shooting 60% from the floor. He was also 8-for-18 (44%) from 3 and 24-for-32 (75%) from the foul line.

Montonati

It very much appears Jalen Montonati could become this state’s next big thing in terms of basketball.

The son of former Cowboy Brian Montonati, Jalen is a five-star prospect in the 2026 class and ranked as highly as the No. 20 player in that class. He’s a 6-foot-7 guard/forward who plays at Owasso under his father. The Montonatis led Owasso to its first state title in basketball this past season when Jalen was only a sophomore.

He played with MoKan Elite on the EYBL circuit this summer and averaged 17.2 points a game at Peach Jam, doing so while shooting 41% from 3-point range and 88% from the foul line. In a Peach Jam game against Team Thad, Montonati scored 26 points, going 9-for-13 from the field and 5-for-9 from 3-point range.

Spurlock

Seven Spurlock is ranked as highly as No. 65 in the 2026 class. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and also has offers to Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, Houston, Arizona State and others.

With Pr0 Skillz Elite at Peach Jam, Spurlock averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game. He’s out of the DFW area but is set to play next season at Prolific Prep, a highly touted basketball program in California.

OSU offered Spurlock in July.

Brown

Out of Lufkin, Texas (shoutout Dez Bryant), Brown is listed at 6-foot-7. He already has offers to the likes of Texas Tech, TCU, Texas A&M, SMU, Iowa and others.

Brown played on JLE on the EYBL circuit this summer and averaged 12 points and 3.4 rebounds a game while shooting 39% from 3

Rivals lists Brown as the No. 137 player in the 2026 class.
