Oklahoma State Breaks out All-White Combo for Kansas

In desperate need of a bounce-back win and to stir up a little enthusiasm, OSU’s equipment staff went all-in on all-whites for the Cowboys’ first road game of the year.

Oklahoma State is going icy for the second weekend of fall. The Cowboys are swinging for the fences with a fresh looking all-white combo with the chrome brand for the first time ever and Kansas earns the debut honors.

The Cowboys have worn some iteration of all-whites the last three seasons but they were always capped with an “Icy Pete” lid. In 2013, the Pokes broke out white-white-white for their bowl game against Missouri with a black brand and black stripe. In 2011 and 2012 it was accompanied by an orange brand. This helmet has never been worn.

There’s not much to gripe about with this clean look other than the comments I’ve already seen that it’s “too cool for Kansas.” Normally I’d agree, but today I absolutely get it. This is a must win.

With several key players (not named Jalen McCleskey) out for this game and the lack of atmosphere at that Memorial Stadium — plus all of the off-field noise from this past week — why not give your guys (and the fans) something to be excited about? Or maybe the all-white look is just a coaching strategy so OSU’s players blend in with the mostly empty white bleachers.

Here’s a look at the predictions from PFB. Our guys were mostly stumped by the all-white curve ball.
