The Cowboys are putting the finishing touches on their 2026 roster, and they landed a pair of commitments from Power Conference transfers on Sunday night.

Missouri safety Mose Phillips III committed to Oklahoma State, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, as did Washington defensive tackle Dominic Macon, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Here’s a little bit about each guy.

Mose Phillips III

Listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Phillips spent two seasons at Virginia Tech before spending 2025 in the SEC with Missouri.

He played 149 defensive snaps this past season, according to PFF, and finished the year with five tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, a PBU and a forced fumble.

Phillips was a starter with the Hokies in 2024, completing that season with 65 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.

He also contributed at Virginia Tech as a true freshman in 2023 with 27 tackles and a forced fumble.

Out of Cane Ridge High School in Tennessee, Phillips was a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He chose the Hokies over offers from Virginia, Georgia Tech and others. He played both ways in high school, finishing his senior season with four interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 700+ receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Dominic Macon

The Cowboys needed to bolster their defensive interior. How does a 6-foot-3, 310-pound freshman sound?

Macon redshirted at Washington in 2025, not playing in any games.

He hails from Savannah, Georgia but closed his high school days out at Adrienne C. Nelson in Oregon, where he was a state champion wrestler.

He was a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, with the Composite ranking listing Macon as the No. 924 player in the 2025 class and the No. 4 player in the state of Oregon. He chose the Huskies over offers from Boise State, Oregon State, Washington State and others.

Updating OSU’s Portal Class

These are the 19th and 20th transfers the Cowboys have picked up from Power Conference schools this offseason.

Macon is the second player from Washington to commit to OSU, joining safety Vincent Holmes. Macon is the ninth defensive lineman the Pokes have taken, but his commitment was important as he’s one of only a few who plays on the interior.

Phillips is the fourth safety to commit to the Cowboys, joining Holmes (Washington), Quinton Hammonds (North Texas) and Evan Jackson (North Texas). The Cowboys also got Cameron Epps to return after he initially went into the portal.
