Washington Safety Vincent Holmes Commits to Oklahoma State
OSU picks up another Power Conference defensive transfer.
Another defender with Power Conference experience has pledged to be a Poke.
Washington transfer safety Vincent Holmes committed to Oklahoma State on Saturday, according to 247Sports’ Cody Nagel. Listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds, Holmes has played in 29 games across the past three seasons as a Husky, where he has made 11 tackles.
He should have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
247Sports considers Holmes the No. 843 player in the transfer portal, ranking him 80th among safeties.
He was a four-star prospect coming out of San Jacinto High School in California in the 2023 recruiting class. He was the No. 305 player in the class, per the 247Sports Composite ranking and chose Washington over offers from Colorado, BYU, UCLA, Arizona, USC and others.
Holmes took a redshirt while playing in four games during the 2023 season before playing in a dozen of the Huskies’ games in 2024. He finished with seven tackles that year.
In 2025, Holmes played in all 13 of Washington’s games and made a start against Oregon. He finished the year with four tackles, and, according to PFF, allowed one catch for three yards in 47 coverage snaps.
Holmes is the sixth defensive back the Pokes have added via the portal within the past week. He joins corners Kanijal Thomas (Kansas State), Kollin Lewis (North Texas) and Maurion Horn (Texas Tech) and safeties Quinton Hammonds (North Texas) and Evan Jackson (North Texas).
Holmes is the 14th commitment the Cowboys have picked up from another Power Conference school and is the eighth of those who plays defense.
