Oklahoma State Opens as 2.5-Point Favorite over TCU
We should be in for a close one on Saturday.
Oklahoma State opened as a 2.5-point favorite over TCU in the wide world of gambling this week, the tightest spread among all of Saturday’s games in the Big 12.
According to William Hill’s odds, the game also carries the second-lowest points total among conference matchups at 50.5. Only West Virginia-Iowa State, with a 48.5 over/under, is lower. That would seem to indicate that Saturday should be a low-scoring, hotly contested affair, with an implied point total for OSU at 26.5 and TCU at 24. Yowza.
OSU has been held to 27 points or fewer on five occasions this season — vs. Tulsa, West Virginia, Iowa State, Kansas State and Oklahoma. The Pokes are 4-1 in those games, with the lone loss coming at OU in a stunning 13-point outing.
TCU hasn’t been an offensive juggernaut this season, either, but it is coming off its most complete outing of the season on that end of the ball. The Horned Frogs hung 59 on Kansas this past weekend, thanks in part to 337 yards rushing as a team led by freshman Zach Evans’ 100-yard outing.
