Are These Oklahoma State’s 2017-18 Basketball Uniforms?

There has been much speculation about what Oklahoma State’s new basketball uniforms will look like. Carson Cunningham confirmed that the cursive scripting we all know and love will at least be a part of the uniform set starting in the 2017-18 season.

Last week, it seems, Jeffrey Carroll revealed a little bit more. Carroll put the following photos on Snapchat, and they were passed on to me by a fellow Snapper. I’m not on Snapchat (unless it involves Rickie, Spieth and SB2K), but they have Carroll’s name on them and look similar to the designs OSU is using in football. In other words, it seems as if a member of the OSU basketball team revealed these in a public forum which makes me think they’re both A. Legit and B. Happening in some form.

There is a lot going on here, but I think overall I’m not really a huge fan of these. Big Pete running down the side is not the greatest, and neither is the paisley scripting going from armpit to calf.

I do like the front and the overall scripting of the letters and numbers better than what they have right now, though. I like how clean they are from the front angle, too. Also, we don’t know if these are finalized or just a proposal, but given Carroll’s “next year” label I have to think we’re getting some variation of these although these do seem like mock-ups given the inconsistency.

I also think there are going to be at least a couple more to go along with this set. Definitely orange and cursive and maybe a throwback. I wouldn’t hate OSU hoops going the way of OSU football and having a huge selection to choose from.

Either way, this appears to be the foundation of the future look in men’s basketball for the Pokes.
