OSU drops in both polls after win
One thing is true, though — OSU was more impressive in a Week 1 loss than a Week 2 win.

Oklahoma State might be the only team in the country over the first two weeks to have moved up in both polls when it lost (to FSU) and to have moved down when it won (over Missouri State).
This week OSU is No. 30 in the Coaches Poll after moving to No. 26 after Week 1. And it is No. 28 in the AP poll after moving to No. 27 after Week 1.
To recap:
| Poll | Preseason | After Week 1 | After Week 2 |
| Coaches | No. 30 | No. 26 | No. 30 |
| AP | No. 33 | No. 27 | No. 28 |
I guess at least you can say the polls are consistent in taking to account how you played against who you played (OSU was far more impressive in Week 1 than Week 2)?[1. Not that this is an across-the-board staple for the way folks vote.]
But whatever, these polls mean zero things, the entire thing is an exercise in silliness.
And if we didn’t think this was silliness before, we definitely do now as Virginia Tech is ranked behind Ohio State in the Coaches poll (after beating Ohio State in Columbus):

Cool, bros.
