OSU Wrestling Commit Jax Forrest to Wrestle for U23 World Gold
Forrest teched his way to the final.
Jax Forrest’s ridiculously impressive freestyle stretch continues.
An Oklahoma State wrestling commit, Forrest will wrestle for U23 World gold on Monday in Serbia. That final comes after Forrest teched his way through three matches on Sunday.
Forrest’s tournament started against Moldova’s Vasile Marcu, who the Cowboy commit beat 13-0. Forrest faced Ukraine’s Mykyta Abramov in the quarters, swiftly winning 10-0.
Quick math: Forrest outscored those first two opponents 23-0 and neither match got out of the first period.
He matched up with Japan’s Akito Mukaida in the semis, and while Mukaida was able to put some points on the board, the end result was the same. Forrest teched Mukaida 15-5.

Kyrgyzstan’s Omurbek Asan Uulu awaits Forrest in the final. Asan Uulu also teched his way to the final, winning four matches by a combined score of 47-3. So, it should make for a fun gold medal match.
This just adds to what’s been a wildly successful “offseason” for Forrest. He won the Senior U.S. Open at 61 kg, earning a spot at Final X for a shot to make it on the World Team. Forrest then beat 2023 World champion Vito Arujau 2-0 in a best-of-three series at Final X to make the World Team as a high schooler.
Forrest was a singlet pull away from a bronze medal at senior worlds, and now the worst he could do at U23s is silver.
