Pokes Split First Two In Baseball Series With OU After Thrilling Game 2 Win

Oklahoma State gave up six runs in the last two innings on Saturday night in Tulsa to OU but had a seven-run cushion and won by a single run (10-9) in the second game of a three-game set with the Sooners. Not only did OSU give up six runs in the last two frames of this crazy tilt, but they left the bases juiced with Sooners as the game ended on a pop out (a scary one at that).

“The way it played out doesn’t bother me honestly,” Josh Holliday told the Tulsa World. “In fact, it probably, in many ways, grows you in ways you wouldn’t have grown had you’d just comfortably mowed them down … sometimes these games are never over.

“You have to make sure you concentrate through the duration. We learned a lesson tonight and luckily we were able to win and learn that lesson.”

OSU got plenty of help on defense throughout the night from Donnie Walton who snagged the final out (above) but also made this diving catch earlier in the game (below).

But they also put on a hitting barrage as Dustin Williams hit two bombs and OSU pumped out 13 hits en route to taking that 10-3 lead to the eighth inning.

The rubber game happens on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
